Reviews:
- Wine Spectator: Fresh and floral, this is almost zesty on the palate, with a fine and lively, lacy bead and well-meshed flavors of crushed raspberry, blanched almond, candied ginger and blood orange peel.
- James Suckling: A strikingly pale rosé Champagne with a color reminiscent of the coolest still Provence rosé wines. Overflowing with strawberry and raspberry aromas, very juicy and bright on the medium-bodied palate, the finish as charming as it is clean, thanks to the lively mousse.
Producer Information
Pommery is a Champagne house located in Reims and claims to be the inventor of the Brut style of Champagne so popular today. It’s early history is synonymous with Jeanne-Alexandrine Louise Pommery (commonly refered to as Louise Pommery), who guided the house through its early beginnings to substantial growth in the mid 19th Century. The Pommery brand is known for its freshness and finesse, epitomized by the range-topping Cuvée Louise. This is made up exclusively of grapes from the three top grand cru vineyards: Avize and Cramant for the Chardonnay and Aÿ for the Pinot Noir. The house produces a range of Brut Champagnes, including Brut Royal, Brut Apanage and Brut Blue Sky. To mark its 175th anniversary, the house also launched the Les Clos Pompadour cuvée in 2011, sourced from a 25-hectare (61-acre) walled vineyard next to Pommery’s headquarters in Reims. Initially a non-vintage release, the second installment of the cuvée in 2014 was of the 2003 vintage.
