Reviews:
- James Suckling: A pale cherry-colored rosé with aromas of raspberries, grapefruit and peach pit. It’s light- to medium-bodied with sleek bubbles and a fresh, fruity palate. Lightly off-dry.
Producer Information
La Marca is an Italian wine producer specialising in the production of Prosecco DOC and DOCG sparkling wines: Treviso Prosecco and Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene. The company was founded in 1968 by a cooperative of winegrowers based in Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia in northeastern Italy. Today, La Marca comprises nine cooperative wineries predominantly located in the Prosecco DOC region, with a smaller number situated in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG region. Together these winegrowers cultivate 9000 hectares (22,240 acres) of vineyards, mainly planted to the official Prosecco grape variety – Glera. La Marca also grows smaller quantities of Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Verduzzo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir grapes for its extended range of still and sparkling white, rosé and red wines. La Marca uses the Charmat method to produce its Prosecco wines that vary from Brut to Extra Dry and Dry. In addition to its trademark La Marca wine collection, the company also produces a series of wines under its three other brands: Millage, Foscaro and Torri della Marca.
