Red Wine: 2004 | Burlotto | Barolo Cannubi slightly bin soiled label
The 2004 Barolo Vigneto Cannubi is one of the stronger wines I have tasted recently from Burlotto. This medium-bodied Barolo reveals impressive depth in its core of dark red fruit, spices and sweet herbs.

Producer Information
G.B. Burlotto is a small estate in the Piedmont village of Verduno, particularly known for its wines from the Nebbiolo variety. The estate is a major owner in the Monvigliero cru, and the resultant wine is regarded as one of the greatest of all Barolos. The wine portfolio includes five Barolo DOCG as well as highly regarded wines produced from Barbera, Dolcetto and Freisa. The rare and ancient Pelaverga variety is produced as a varietal wine and depending on the vintage, may spend a short period aging in large oak barriques. There is also an uncommon Nebbiolo rosé included in the collection.Winemaking remains very traditional, with grapes crushed by foot, and very long macerations. On the contrary, barrel aging usually takes place in large French oak barrels, rather than Slavonian ones.
